Multi-standard high-visibility clothing belongs to the PPE/protective clothing sector and fulfils several occupational safety standards. In contrast to high-visibility workwear, it also has additional high-visibility or reflective elements. This protects the wearer in various hazardous situations and increases visibility and recognisability at the same time.
Typically, multi-standard high-visibility clothing fulfils standards such as EN ISO 20471 (high visibility), which defines specific requirements for high-visibility clothing to improve the visibility of people during the day and at night. In addition, this type of clothing can also fulfil standards for protection against thermal hazards such as heat and flames (EN ISO 11612), protection against arc welding and related processes (EN ISO 11611), protection against electrostatic charge (EN 1149) and other protective functions.
Multi-standard high-visibility clothing is particularly in demand in working environments where workers are confronted with various hazards and where high visibility is required to minimise accidents and injuries. This applies, for example, to the construction sector, electrical installations, railway and track construction or for energy suppliers & public utilities. By combining several protective functions in one garment, this workwear provides workers with comprehensive protective equipment that ensures safety and visibility without having to wear additional separate items of protective clothing.
