1. Washability
Cleaning plays a crucial role in clinics, hospitals and nursing homes. Due to their washability, scrubs can be cleaned very well. High-quality jackets can withstand hospital washing at
temperatures of over 95 °C without any problems. The rating
"suitable for industrial laundering" is therefore an important label to look for when choosing a tunic.
Look for quality! Then the tunic will still give a professional impression after many washes at high temperatures, will not fade and will retain its fit.
2. Short sleeves
A question that is asked again and again is why tunics are always short-sleeved. There are hygiene reasons for this: Forearms can be disinfected, sleeves cannot! Studies have shown that long sleeves are often contaminated with pathogens. Hygienic hand disinfection can hardly be carried out properly in a long-sleeved gown. This also creates hygiene problems for other activities, which can be eliminated by wearing a gown. Short-sleeved gowns provide better protection against infection with multi-resistant germs. Therefore, there are good arguments for replacing even the traditional doctor's coat with a gown.
