Multi-standard protection
Multi-standard workwear, also called multinorm protective clothing or multinorm workwear, is a special type of protective clothing that meets several standards and protective functions at the same time. Multinorm workwear is designed to protect workers in environments with multiple hazards, including thermal hazards (heat and flame), electrical discharge, static, cold, welding and protection from certain chemicals.
Typical standards that can be considered in multinorm workwear include EN ISO 11611 (protective clothing for welding and allied processes), EN ISO 11612 (protective clothing against heat and flame), EN 1149 (protective clothing with antistatic properties) and EN 13034 (protective clothing against liquid chemicals). By combining different protective properties in one garment, Multinorm workwear offers the advantage that workers can work efficiently and safely in demanding work environments with multiple sources of danger without having to wear several separate protective garments. This contributes to workers' comfort, freedom of movement and work performance, while still providing them with the protection they need to minimise accidents and injuries.
BP® has developed its Multinorm collections for special occupational groups. These include MULTI-STANDARD FOR ENERGY SUPPLIERS and public utilities, Multinorm for transport and rail, and Multinorm For electromobility.
